Greater Goods Roasting's Lunar New Year Blend returns each year as a celebration of balance, renewal, and thoughtful coffee craftsmanship. Built around the themes of fresh starts and forward motion, this tri-origin blend combines Vietnamese Robusta for depth, Colombian coffee for sweetness and structure, and Ethiopian natural for bright, fruity lift. The result is a cup that feels grounded but livelyβ€”comforting without being heavy, complex without being cluttered.

The Lam Dong Robusta from Vietnam anchors the blend with body and subtle warmth. Colombian coffees grown at higher elevations contribute clean sweetness and balance, while the Ethiopian natural, processed at mountain altitudes, brings aromatics and fruit-forward notes that give the cup its energy. Each origin was chosen not to dominate, but to support the othersβ€”a reflection of the Lunar New Year ethos of harmony and togetherness.

Tasting Notes

Expect vanilla sweetness up front, with grapefruit brightness cutting through the middle and a cinnamon-like warmth rounding out the finish. The body is medium to full, with enough weight to feel substantial but not syrupy. Acidity is bright and clean, more citrus than tart, and the finish lingers with gentle spice and fruit. It's the kind of coffee that feels easy to drink but rewards attentionβ€”comfortable enough for daily brewing, layered enough to revisit.

Brew Methods

This blend shines across methods. As drip or pour over, it highlights the Ethiopian fruit notes and Colombian sweetness while keeping the body approachable. In a French press or AeroPress, the Robusta base adds richness and depth without muddiness. It also pulls well as espressoβ€”expect a syrupy shot with vanilla sweetness and citrus brightness, though the body may be lighter than single-origin naturals. If you're using it for milk drinks, the blend's structure holds up beautifully, with cinnamon and vanilla notes playing nicely with steamed milk.
