Released by the end of that second world war, Katherine and her husband, Elden Heart Rowland, set out to follow his dream of becoming a fine artist. As Elden progressed into his life-long career as a painter and teacher, Katherine, too, found her place in the art world. Katherine's first book, A Painter and His Wife, released in 2006, focuses on Elden's story. In the new book, reproductions in color, and black and white, of paintings and photographs by more than thirty friends and colleagues, as well as her own photographs, illuminate the story.
